INSI Ignite Award
The INSI Ignite Award is designed to encourage researchers and students at the INSI Institute to consider how their research could be applied to solving real-world problems. The goal is not to force full spinout proposals, but to surface early commercialization concepts that may become pilot projects, patents, or startup ventures.
Submission Format: Fill out the ID 2027 Application
Application Requirements:
- Core research area
- A real-world need or customer segment
- Problem to be solved and who benefits
- Fit with INSI strengths (AI/ML for wireless, 5G/6G, UAVs, IoT, sensing, testbeds)
Review process:
- Each applicant will participate in a brief exploratory conversation to further shape and assess the idea.
- Submissions will be reviewed collaboratively by least two reviewers (e.g., a CRI representative, INSI Researcher or industry advisor).
Judging Criteria
- Clarity of Application — Is the opportunity well-articulated?
- Commercial Viability — Is there a plausible need, buyer, or deployment path?
- Fit with INSI Strengths — Does it leverage INSI’s capabilities in wireless, AI/ML, UAVs, IoT, or testbeds?
